Welcome to JG's Used Books, LLC

The Bookworm Community:

There are numerous opportunities to be a part of the bookworm community at JG's Used Books. Here are some of the opportunities! On your next visit make sure to pick up a copy of the newsletter so you know what other new and exciting things are upcoming as well as re-caps of how things have been going with the bookworm community! Here are some of the opportunities:

  • Reading Club v2.0 - Wednesday Evenings at 6:30pm and Saturdays at 1pm: just bring the book you are currently reading and enjoy time with other bookworms talking about books and enjoying some quiet reading time.

  • Craft & Quill Night [TM] Friday Evenings at 7pm. Bring your crafty project to work on: paper crafts, journaling, crocheting, drawing/sketching / etc. and enjoy relaxing and creative time with other bookworms in the community

  • Creative Short Story Writing: Friday's at 7pm. Enjoy crafting your own 2 to 5 page fictional short story on topics selected weekly and then share them (read-a-loud) to other bookworms present at Craft & Quill Night. . All skills are welcome and it is a non-critical group, non-competitive. This is just a fun thing for those interested in writing at all levels.

  • Pagan Witch Tarot Card Book Club - Sundays at 1pm. For those interested in these things, this may be the book club for you. Right now we are group reading through The Crucible. The current book club book is "Hour of the Witch" and it has meetings coming up in February for parts 1 and 2. Also, during the weekly gathering we turn a tarot card and find out what it has to say for each attendee who wants to do that.

  • Thumb Poetry & Haiku Club is Now Forming. Looking for those interested in writing and sharing poetry along the same lines as the writing club above with weekly topics, as well as sharing recently written poetry with others in attendance

  • Readers also are invited to come on Saturdays for JG's Meet the Author Saturdays to be a part of the live audience, meet the author, perhaps pick up a signed copy of their book direct from them and to generally show support for local, indie and small market authors!

The Current Topic for Creative Short Story Writing is:

"masquerade"

however you interpret and want to approach that topic. If you are just coming for the 1st time and that topic doesn't speak to you, you could write on any of the other topics which were: "ancient" | "scandalous games" | "near death experience" . . . . 2 to 5 pages, fiction. . . get to writing and bring it with you to read-a-loud to share with others and enjoy listening to theirs. . then attendees write suggested topics and those go into the treasure box and another one is drawn for the next friday.

Fridays at 7pm! - All Skill Levels Welcome
